JAKARTA Unilever's ice cream business, which is scheduled to take the floor on the stock exchange in November, announced plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) from Chile's startup NotCo. This technology will be used to reform products and develop new variants.
According to Zbigniew Lewicki, Chief Research, Design and Innovation Officer atZE Ice Cream Company, AI NotCo will be used to reduce calories in ice cream, create vegetable-based products, and help control the cost of raw materials that continue to increase.
"Consumers want to continue to enjoy ice cream, but also look for smaller portions and more sustainable products," Levicki said in a statement.

NotCo CEO, Matias Muchnick, said that their AI technology was used to accelerate food producers' response to changes in consumer tastes influenced by global health trends as well as soaring raw material prices such as cocoa.
Muchnick added that AI NotCo helps companies find replacements for synthetic dyes, reduce sugar levels, and find their next popular taste, such as 'Dubai chocolate.'
Previously, NotCo had also collaborated with Kraft Heinz to create plant-based products such as macronics and cheese, slice cheese, and Mayones.
