JAKARTA - Snapchat has officially launched two new features designed to make the chat experience more personal, namely Infinite Retention and Group Streak.

In an official announcement on its blog, Snap's company behind Snapchat revealed that these two features were born from community demand, which wants to keep important chat forever while building a stretch with friends in the group.

We have tested various ways to bring these features to our Snapchat community, and now we are ready to roll it out widely," the company wrote.

With Infinite Retention, users can now enable the option to permanently save conversations in individual chats, and everyone will receive a clear notification when the settings change.

Meanwhile, the Group Streak feature allows every Snap shared in the group to contribute to collective streak. This feature makes it easier for users to celebrate togetherness with their favorite groups.

Similar to the power of fire on TikTok, streak will continue if users continue to maintain their interaction. Like personal streak, users can also restore the group's strength within a week after it ends.

Snapchat insists that these two features are optional and private, so users still have complete control over their chat experience.
