Bluesky Officially Launches Long-awaitedmark Feature

JAKARTA - Bluesky has officially launched an update to its app in version v1,108, which brings one of the most awaited features by users, namely Bookmarks or Stored Posts.

With this feature, users can now save interesting posts or want to read back. The marker button is below every post, making it easier for users to tag content without having to search for it again in the timeline.

"Now it's available, finally: Bookmark, aka Stored Posting. For all posts that you plan to visit lag," the company wrote in its announcement on Bluesky's official account.

Through the launch of this landmark feature, Bluesky seems very serious about making its social media a competitor to X, formerly known as Twitter, and also Meta's Threads.

In July Bluesky implemented a number of changes to its platform, specifically for users in the UK, to comply with the online Security Act in the region.

The law requires online platforms, including Bluesky, to take specific steps to reduce the risk of exposure to harmful content to children.

Therefore, Bluesky will take advantage of Epic Games' Children's Web Service (KWS), which will provide age verification options for communities in the United Kingdom. There are several methods that can be selected, ranging from ID verification to face.

Meanwhile, Bluesky decided to block its services at Mississipi, as a firm step in rejecting the age-verification law in the country.

This decision was taken because Bluesky refused to comply with its rules. According to a blog post on Friday, August 22, Bluesky does not have sufficient resources to meet substantial technical requirements. The company also expressed concerns about user privacy.
