Komdigi Affirms Commitment To Maintain A Safe And Healthy Digital Space

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is committed to continuing to maintain digital space from negative content.

The Deputy Minister of Communication and Trade, Nezar Patria, emphasized that the government continues to coordinate with various digital platforms to support the creation of a healthy, safe, and beneficial digital ecosystem for the community.

One of the main focuses is ensuring the sustainability of community economic activities, including MSME players who use digital platforms to develop businesses.

"We will build communication and understand the need for MSMEs and community activities that use digital platforms. Existing features can continue to be used to support economic activity," said Nezar.

In the future, Nezar added, the government will discuss how the use of these features can be carried out safely, both for MSMEs and for the general public.

Nezar also emphasized the importance of a balance between freedom of expression and public safety in the use of social media.

According to him, the government wants to ensure that digital spaces are not misused to spread content that has the potential to endanger the public.

We are studying this and will collaborate with social media platforms. Provocative content, advocating arson, even leading to acts of violence, must be watched out for," he explained.

He emphasized that Komdigi will continue to work with digital platforms to ensure that people can carry out their activities safely in cyberspace, as well as encourage the use of technology for national economic growth, especially MSMEs.
