JAKARTA Meta, the parent company Threads, is testing a new feature that will make it easier for users to share long texts. With this feature, users do not need to make multiple posts.

This new feature is named 'textirical attachment' and was first discovered by the application researcher Raid Oncescu on the iOS platform. According to Radu's description, launching from TechCrunch, this feature is designed so that users can share more in-depth thinking.

Users can also share news snippets or book quotes freely. This feature will encourage users to be more creative in presenting content, especially content that focuses on writing.

The ability to share long content can be Threads' strategy to attract writers and creators. Those who usually upload posts on blogs or newsletter platforms like Substacks now have alternatives to reach a wider audience.

One of the Threads users who managed to access this feature has shared how the feature works. Instead of appearing as the standard text in the post, the long text attached will appear in a gray box in the main post.

This box can be clicked to display and scroll the entire text content. This feature is different from X, formerly known as Twitter, which also offers a similar feature called Article.

The Article Feature on X is only available to Premium subscribers, while the text attachment feature in Threads can be accessed by all users. However, this feature that is being tested still has limitations.

Threads only allows users to share text alone without the support of other media. Meanwhile, the Article feature in X already supports image and video participation. It's possible Threads will add multimedia support in the future.

Meta confirms that this feature will roll out in the near future for more users. With this innovation, Threads is increasingly showing its seriousness in competing with X and other social media platforms.
