JAKARTA - Apple introduced a series of new tools for companies that allow the IT team to regulate how and when employees use artificial intelligence (AI). Although the main focus is on ChatGPT for Enterprise, this controlling feature is not limited to OpenAI's services.

According to a TechCrunch report, the new tool provides administrators with granular capabilities, ranging from determining what features can be activated or turned off, to regulating whether AI requests from employees can be sent to the ChatGPT cloud service or not. In this way, the company can prevent internal data leakage or intellectual property that is not intentionally shared through AI requests.

This feature applies not only to ChatGPT, but can also be used to limit access to other external AI providers such as Anthropic and Google. This gives the company more flexibility in how employees use AI in the work environment.

Apple's move comes amid the widespread use of AI in modern computing, including in the world of work. The presence of ChatGPT for Enterprise, for example, presents new challenges in managing company data and information security.

Apple itself has indeed collaborated with OpenAI to present direct ChatGPT integration on the iPhone. However, the development of this control tool signals that Apple is preparing to face a future where corporate users want greater freedom in choosing the AI services they use.

Although Apple has prepared Private Cloud Compute to maintain the security and privacy of user data in the Apple Intelligence ecosystem, the Cupertino company does not have a similar mechanism for third-party services. With this new control tool, Apple is trying to provide additional solutions to keep the company feeling safe when employees use external AI services.
