JAKARTA Samsung DeX, a system with a desktop interface, will get a slight update on Android-based One UI 8 16. This update won't change Samsung DeX's functionality.
While holding the annual developer event I/O some time ago, Google said that Android will get more native desktop mode support on Android 16. This increase will use DeX as the foundation.
With this upgrade, users will get a number of new interface elements in the Fast Panel. This update also removes DeX tabs in Settings and replaces them with the 'connected Screen' menu.
Previously, DeX's exit button was in the app drawer, but this would no longer be in One UI 8. Application booths will be rolled out vertically. The taskbar also reflects the app installed on the user's phone screen.

Samsung will also add a deletion option for desktop and taskbar with right-click, interface element display that remains visible when the video app is in full screen mode, as well as the app's 'Pin' option to be removed from the window.
Most changes look small so some users may not feel the changes. However, the DeX feature provided at One UI 8 will offer a more complete feature than the previous generation.
The first devices to get these changes are the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Several other devices, including the Galaxy Tab, will receive the upgrade once One UI 8 is widely launched.
