JAKARTA Snapchat launched a new feature called Safe Home. With this feature, users can notify friends or family when they arrive home after traveling.

"Whether you've just come home from your first date, busy concert, or weekend vacation, Home Safe can give peace of mind to close friends or family members that you've safely arrived home," Snapchat wrote, quoted on Friday, July 25.

To use this feature, users need to set their home location first by tapping your Bitmoji on Snap Map. After that, select My Home. Next, users can run the feature in their chat room.

They only need to build a conversation with friends or family, then tap the Peta icon and select the Safe Home button. After that, friends or family will receive an automatic warning in their chat room.

Snapchat states that this warning can only be sent to friends who have received user locations. For security purposes, Snapchat will disable the location sharing ability in Snap Map by default.

This means that the user's location will not be sent to any user by Snapchat. The Home Safe warning will also not be received by other users if it is not shared explicitly by its users.

This new feature is part of the Snap Map update after the feature managed to reach more than 400 million monthly active users. This feature has been available on Snapchat since 2017 with its initial function as a tool for viewing friends' locations and browsing public snapshots.

Over time, this feature develops to help users reach out to more. With Snap Map, users can find interesting locations and exciting activities around them.
