IPhone 17e Will Launch Next Spring With IPhone 16e Identical Screen

JAKARTA A recent report from the supply chain indicates that the iPhone 17e will launch in the spring of next year, according to previous reports. This upcoming model does not appear to be a major update, with today's report saying that it will use the same screen exactly as the iPhone 16e. This screen itself is a recycling of the iPhone 14.

When Apple replaces the iPhone SE with the iPhone 16e, one of the big questions is whether this new naming scheme indicates an annual update. The iPhone SE was previously updated at an uncertain interval, while its placement in the iPhone 16e line seems to hint at revisions every year.

This idea is reinforced by leaker Fixed Focus Digital which reports a product code that appears to be linked to the iPhone 17e, and becomes more credible when they then see the model in the experimental production stage. This stage clearly shows the launch next year.

Now, this information is supported by TheElec, which states that the iPhone 17e will launch in spring. "It has been known today that Apple plans to launch the iPhone 17e with a start-up-level organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen in spring. The panel is reusing OLED for the iPhone 16e."

The iPhone 16e itself was launched in February 2025, while the launch of its successor in the spring will show a slightly slower date, as spring officially begins on March 20.

Not much more information is known at this stage, but it won't come as a surprise if there's just a simple update. This different launch schedule is likely designed for logistical purposes backing 100% of Apple's production capacity for the main line around launch time and to maximize flagship model sales before the launch of a much slower budget model.
