Gemini Live More Sophisticated, Google Prepares Extension Support For Spotify, Clock, And Other Popular Apps

JAKARTA - Google seems to be preparing to take Gemini Live to its next level by adding support for a number of popular app extensions. This artificial intelligence-based feature was first introduced at the Made by Google event in August last year, and has continued to experience a gradual update.

Now, a number of reports indicate that Google is developing support for new extensions, including for apps such as Spotify, YouTube Music, and Clock.

Gemini Live is designed to be a voice-based interactive interface that allows users to communicate directly with AI in a natural conversation format. Although functional enough, this feature does not fully match Gemini's full version of experience which has wider extension support. However, major changes appear to be coming soon.

According to a report from Android Authority, in the Google Android app beta update version 16.25.44.sa.arm64, new extensions are found that Google is working on.

The list of extensions includes several popular applications that were previously not supported by Gemini Live. Although not all of them are available for use, the existence of this list indicates that development is already running and the rollout of the stable version may just be a matter of time.

The report also states that at least four extensions have been successfully activated, indicating that some new features are actually already in the gradual launch stage.

Google itself has not issued an official statement regarding the schedule for releasing this new extension. However, this move demonstrates the company's seriousness in uniting the cross-app AI experience, so users can make more flexible use of Gemini Live in their daily lives.

This expansion also reflects Google's shift in strategy in making Gemini Live an increasingly integrated AI platform with the Android ecosystem. If development goes according to plan, it's not impossible that in the near future Gemini Live will have the same capabilities as Gemini's full version of experience including direct access and control of popular applications that users use a lot.

This effort is part of Google's vision to create a more personal, responsive, and digital lifestyle-connected AI experience. Future users can not only ask AI to play songs from Spotify or set alarms in the Clock app, but also integrate their various digital aspects in a growing smart system.

For now, users are advised to wait for an official update from Google regarding the launch of this new extension. But for sure, the future of Gemini Live seems to be much smarter and more versatile than ever before.
