Google Will Reduce Pixel 6A Battery Capacity To Prevent Burned Components

JAKARTA Google is one of the manufacturers of mobile phones that often pays attention to old devices. This time, they will overcome problems that are often faced by Pixel 6A users.

The company is rumored to be rolling out a special update for the Pixel 6A. This update will reduce battery life with slightly lowered performance so that the device does not experience excessive heat.

"A number of Pixel 6A phones will require mandatory software updates to reduce the risk of battery potential being too hot," said Alex Moriconi, a worker at Google, quoted by The Verge on Tuesday, June 12.

Alex explained that this feature will be rolled out to several customers who experience excess heat problems. That way, users can use their phones for a longer period of time.

"The update will activate a battery management feature that will reduce charging capacity and performance after the battery reaches 400 charging cycles. We will contact customers affected next month," explained Alex.

This information was issued after several people reported problems to their Pixel 6A. According to the Android Authority records, there are two users who have revealed the problem of cell phones with excess heat on the Reddit platform.

So hot, this phone caught fire at night. Therefore, Google will make a warning about the potential for battery problems that are too hot. This warning will be launched specifically for Pixel 6A users.

For now, the warning is still being tested on Android 16 QQPR1 Beta 2. Google is still stringing its warnings in the form of a code series with unactivated support page links.
