JAKARTA Apple added a new security feature to the Messages app. With this feature, iOS users can control all messages from unknown senders in the application.
This new feature will be available on iOS 26. All messages sent by unknown numbers will appear in the Unknown Sender folder. This folder can be accessed with the cata tapping the three-line icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
"Users can now filter messages from unknown senders so they have greater control over who appears on their conversation list," Apple said in a statement, quoted on Tuesday, June 10.
Users can visit their folders at any time and the Messages app will notify users if a message enters the folder. They will see a number indicator outside the folder to show how many messages are coming in.
SEE ALSO:
When visiting the Unknown Sender folder, users will see two options offered, namely Delete or Mark As Known. If the user selects to delete, the message they receive will disappear permanently.
However, if the message is marked as a known person, the message will be removed from the folder and go to an incoming message. Messages from unknown people will not be displayed until the user receives the message.
Interestingly, users will also see Sensitive Time alerts if they get messages at unusual hours. Although the message is not displayed, users can see the message snippet below the sender number.
