With this kind of contextual understanding, Siri on iOS 26 will feel much more useful in everyday life.

Over the years, Siri has only been able to perform basic commands such as setting alarms, reminding, or playing music. However, on iOS 26, Apple will introduce hundreds of new measures, including the ability to manage cross-app tasks.

For example:

Users can say, "Add photos from this morning to my Birding notes," and Siri will do it immediately without the need to open the Photo or Note app.

This opens up a much wider potential hand-free computing, especially for users who want to work fast without touching.

So far, Siri has limited features related to the content being displayed on the screen. For example, users can say "Remember me about this" while reading the email, and Siri will make a reminder with the link to the email.

However, iOS 26 will introduce true screen awareness to Siri. This means that Siri can understand what is currently appearing on the screen and responds contextually to human assistants.

Another example: if a friend sends a new address via iMessage, the user simply says, 'Add this address to the contact card,' and Siri will do it right away.

This feature is believed to be very useful on the iPhone and Apple Vision Pro devices, especially when users interact without physical input devices.
