Strava Removes Millions Of Suspicious Activities By Increasing Detection Devices

JAKARTA Strava, a GPS-based sports activity tracking app, has updated their platform. Thanks to this update, users can no longer fake their sports activities.

Strava said that they are trying to uphold sustainable justice, one of which is by implementing fair and legitimate ranking boards. To prevent various attempts at fraud, the strava has improved its machine learning model.

"(This model) reprocesses the top 10 positions on cycling and running ranking boards," Strava said in a statement, quoted on Thursday, May 22. "This helps athletes compete fairly and perform as well as possible."

Strava juga menghapus juta aktivitas suspicious yang mungkin dilakukan untuk membuat pemeringkatan. Penyedia aplikasi olahraga itu menyatakan bahwa mereka telah menghapus 4.5 juta aktivitas dari berbagai jenis olahraga.

"This effort has removed 4.45 million activities with the wrong type of sport or recorded on vehicles so far, helping to restore KOM and QOM to reflect their true performance," Strava explained.

In addition, Strava also announced an increase in its app, the globally offering of more segments. Thanks to this increase, users can pursue a real-time personal record in more of the number of live segments that are currently popular.
