TikTok Adds SoundCloud Option In Add To Music Feature

JAKARTA TikTok is in partnership with SoundCloud, an open audio platform for music distribution. Through this partnership, TikTok integrates SoundCloud into the Add to Music feature.

The Add to Music feature was introduced last year to make it easier for users to save songs. This feature is integrated with several music streaming platforms, including Spotify, so the number of features usage continues to increase.

So far, Add to Music has been used more than a billion times to store songs on supported music streaming services. By adding SoundCloud to the feature, TikTok wants to provide more service options.

"The millions of TikTok users take advantage of the Add to Music feature to store the music they find on TikTok to their favorite streaming platform. We are excited to partner with SoundCloud," said Lindsey Kelt Zikry, TikTok's Global Product Partnership Leader, in a statement.

On the other hand, SoundCloud considers that this partnership really helps users of its platform. Users no longer need to search for interesting songs from TikTok independently because they can directly save the songs in a few clicks.

"Mating with TikTok makes it easier for fans to save the songs they like and stay connected to the artist behind the song. This integration ... strengthens our commitment to drive the music culture of future generations," said Head of Global SoundCloud Music Division Emmy Lovell.

SoundCloud is a platform that supports artists in their work. There are more than 400 million songs uploaded by 40 million artists. This platform also has an interesting concept, where musicians can upload their songs independently.

This platform is suitable for use by artists who do self-published. Therefore, SoundCloud has various kinds of music that cannot be found elsewhere, be it Spotify, Apple Music, or even YouTube Music.
