Google Cloud Expands Its AI Data Center Capacity In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Ahead of the Google Cloud Summit 2025 event in Jakarta, Google Cloud announced today and will continue to expand Jakarta Cloud Region's computing capacity.

This expansion will empower more organizations in Indonesia with access to cloud-based AI entertainment capabilities to encourage new competitive advantages, increase labor productivity, and improve the quality of public services.

"Jakarta Cloud Region from Google Cloud supports many important services for organizations in Indonesia, ranging from research and development of Bio Farma vaccines, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), to digital banking, e-commerce, food delivery services, remote work, and others," said Fanly Tanto, Country Director, Google Cloud, Indonesia.

The Jakarta Cloud Region consists of a large capacity data center that is interconnected and located domestically, which functions as a physical infrastructure that provides high-performance services from Google Cloud.

Over the past five years, the Jakarta Cloud Region has contributed an economic value of IDR 900 trillion (US $ 55 billion) to Indonesia and supports an average of almost 92,000 jobs per year.

In the next five years, the Jakarta Cloud Region is expected to contribute an economic value of IDR 1,400 trillion (88 billion US dollars) in Indonesia and support an average of almost 240,000 jobs per year.

"With this greater computing capacity, we present the capabilities of next-generation software and hardware that are fully integrated and made specifically for the AI era," said Fanly.

The Jakarta Cloud Region is connected to a large-scale Google private network that provides connectivity with high bandwidth and near-zero latency.

The network covers more than two million miles of fiber cables (that is, terrestrial and underwater cables) in more than 200 countries and territories, including Indonesia, which creates a global and resilient foundation for the AI-backed future.

Supported by three zones, the Jakarta Cloud Region allows organizations to store and process their data within the territory of Indonesia.
