JAKARTA - Google and YouTube have launched two new initiatives in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), in realizing quality and safe education in Indonesia.

The two initiatives are Gemini Academy 2025, which provides teachers and students with Gemini AI skills and coding, as well as the Educator Movement through the EDucator Academy with Kok Bisa and Senyawa+, which empowers the creation of quality educative content on YouTube.

"Together with educators, parents, policymakers, we are ready to continue collaborating to support quality and safe education for all," said Danny Ardianto, Head of Government Relations at the Southeast Asian Youtube Public Policy and Youtube on Wednesday, May 7 in Jakarta.

Through these two initiatives, Danny hopes to facilitate and accelerate access to education through various existing strategies and initiatives.

According to him, these two initiatives will be very useful to complement existing learning modes. And with new technology, teachers are expected to be more creative.

"With all the tools from Google and Youtube, of course we want the teacher to be more creative, more empowered using AI or also with the content on Youtube," Danny said.

Meanwhile, Mendikdasmen Abdul Mu'ti also appreciated this initiative. According to him, the Google and Youtube initiatives are in line with the Ministry of Education's vision of providing educational access to everyone in remote parts of the country.

"We see very well that many Indonesian children cannot study in formal schools because they may have to work or because of other mistakes. Therefore, we are also trying to increase and facilitate access to learning for Indonesian children," he concluded.
