JAKARTA In an effort to improve the ability to detect Fraud, Google is developing a new feature that can protect victims. This feature is starting to appear in the beta version of Google Play Services.

Google realizes that fraud models are constantly developing and Android users are often targeted. Therefore, Google will add a fraud detection tool for calls from banks.

This feature is seen in the Google Play Services version of 25.18.31 and is still in the form of a code. Based on the findings of the Android Authority, there is a companion service for the fraud call detection feature. This service is called BankScamCall DetectionService.

This type of scam will usually contact victims while pretending to be representatives of certain bank services. Usually, these scammers state that they need to access bank applications on users' devices using screen sharing capabilities.

Users will be directed to use TeamViewer, then users are asked to open and enter the bank application to solve the mentioned problem. In fact, there is no problem because the fraudster only wants to access the user's bank data.

There are still many people who are deceived by this kind of fraud model so Google develops its detector. This feature will be active when someone who is not on the contact list calls.

Furthermore, the feature will check whether the user banking application is in active mode during the call and whether the capabilities of various screens are also being activated. If all of these things are detected, Google will alert.

The display of the warning is not yet known. However, Google may let its users take action, such as ending the unknown call or marking its number as a fraudster.
