Komdigi Will Take Down Judol Locker Advertising Under The Guise Of Work Abroad

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has stated that it will take action or takedown on job vacancies advertisements indicated online gambling in Cambodia or Myanmar.

Deputy Minister of Komdigi, Nezar Patria said that if there is a locker advertisement with the lure of work abroad, and indications of online gambling, Komdigi will immediately take down the advertisement.

"This information seems like a job vacancy. But in the end, it is a recruitment route for online gambling companies abroad," Nezar told the media when met in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 16.

Not to forget, Nezar also appealed to the public to remain vigilant regarding locker advertisements that offer high salaries, with work locations abroad. Because according to him, the majority of these vacancies are from companies that do not have clear identity.

"Especially in Cambodia, in Myanmar. If we can identify (online gambling affiliates) we will take down. Of course we have to be picky," he added.

Meanwhile, the government is also drafting regulations for the government to eradicate online gambling as a firm step against the increasingly troubling practice of online gambling.

One of the steps that will be taken in the near future is to issue government regulations (PP) that regulate more firmly efforts to eradicate online gambling," said the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, after a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace, Monday, February 17, 2025.

The Deputy Minister of Communication and Trade, Nezar Patria, also stated that the preparation of this PP is still in the discussion stage with cross-agency. The target is that the regulation is completed this year.
