NVIDIA Builds US's First AI Supercomputer Factory, Ready To Produce Blackwell Chips

JAKARTA - NVIDIA announced their great step in strengthening dominance in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, by building its first AI supercomputer factory fully located in the United States.

Together with global manufacturing partners such as TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL, NVIDIA is targeting AI infrastructure production of up to 500 billion US dollars or around Rp. 8,000 trillion in the next four years.

The new plant is said to be focused on producing Blackwell chips, NVIDIA's newest AI chips, and assembling next-generation AI supercomputers.

The company has allocated more than a million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test the NVIDIA Blackwell chip in Arizona, as well as the AI supercomputer in Texas, NVIDIA wrote in an announcement on its official website.

NVIDIA's Blackwell chip production has begun at the TSMC chip factory located in Phoenix, Arizona. NVIDIA is also building a supercomputer manufacturing plant in Texas, respectively with Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas.

Mass production in these two factories is also expected to increase in the next 12 to 15 months.

World AI infrastructure machines are now being built in the United States for the first time, said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.

Huang hopes that the addition of manufacturing in the US can meet the increasing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthen the NVIDIA supply chain, and increase the company's resilience.

The company will rely on its digital ecosystems such as the NVIDIA Omniverse to create digital twins from factories, as well as the Isaac GR00T 'smart AI robot' to automate the manufacturing process.
