Meta Llama Open-source AI Model Reaches 1 Billion Downloads

JAKARTA Llama, Meta's open-source Artificial Intelligence (AI) model, has reached one billion downloads. This achievement shows that Llama has been utilized by many parties.

Meta is deliberately developing Llama as an open-source AI model. The company that oversees Instagram and Facebook wants everyone to be able to access the very sophisticated AI benefits, anywhere and anytime.

Meta also revealed that Llama has been used by many parties since its launch in 2023. This AI model can be used by small and large companies, non-profit institutions, creators, scientists, public institutions, and others.

"(They) have used our models and tools to explore the extraordinary AI capabilities," Meta said in its official broadcast. "People and organizations around the world are using Llama to innovate, encourage scientific progress, and open up new economic opportunities."

The presence of Llama has also been appreciated by many parties. Not a few developers say that the presence of transparency and customization Llama has helped them in creating the latest creativity and innovations.

One of the parties using Llama is Spotify. This music streaming platform has used Llama for many things, from providing song recommendations that are relevant for its users to providing context-appropriate recommendations.

This recommendation can suggest songs, artists, podcasts, to the latest audio books. Spotify also uses Llama to develop the AI feature on its platform, namely AI DJ. With this feature, Spotify can encourage a better music listening experience.

"Spotify is also using Llama to enrich real-time personalized comments from their AI DJs, helping fans connect deeper with artists' songs they listen to," explains Meta.
