JAKARTA - EMTEK Group's over-the-top (OTT) video streaming service, Vidio, has integrated the capabilities of a generative AI-powered Vertex AI Search from Google Cloud into its platform.

Through this integration, Vidio presents an intuitive and smooth content search experience for millions of subscribers, both via TV, websites, and mobile applications.

The AI-based search feature in Vidio is claimed to be able to understand what you are looking for, even when you use alternative spellings in various languages, for example, "Ramadan" or "Ramadhan".

"AI is able to understand the real meaning" behind the search for users, said Fanly Tanto, Country Director of Google Cloud Indonesia in an announcement on Google's official blog.

Even if the search event is not available, AI will present a number of lists of program recommendations that are closest to the user's wishes.

"We want to make sure users can easily find relevant content at any time and on any device," continued Tommy Sullivan, Vidio Chief Technology Officer.

Since Vidio integrated with Vertex AI Search in 2024, Tommy added, the search experience on their platform has become more optimal, and ultimately has an impact on increasing content consumption.

"In this month of Ramadan, we hope this feature can help our audience stay focused on faith and togetherness with family," he hoped.

Previously, Vidio content recommendations required a manual and detailed keyword tagging process. Vertex AI Search changes this process automatically and analyzes and organizes the entire Vidio catalog, including added new events.

The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
