Apple Ready To Launch IPhone 17 Air: Seven New Features Coming This Year

JAKARTA - Apple is preparing to introduce the latest model in their iPhone line, the iPhone 17 Air, which will launch in the fall of this year. The Cupertino-based company will remove the iPhone Plus model and replace it with a new device that has a thinner design and some interesting features that can attract the attention of iPhone Pro users.

Here are the seven main features that will be present on the iPhone 17 Air.

1. Ultra-Tipis Design

Apple seems to want to bring the ultra-thin design of the iPad Pro M4 into the iPhone 17 Air. Based on a recent report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the thinst part of this device is only 5.5mm, much thinner than the 8.25mm IPhone 16 Pro, as well as the 7.8mm iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models.

In comparison, the thinst iPhone ever created before is the iPhone 6, with a thickness of 6.9mm. With this design, the iPhone 17 Air has the potential to be the thinst iPhone ever.

2. Screen 6.6 Inci with Ideal Dimension

One of the advantages of the iPhone 17 Air is the size of the screen that is among other iPhone models.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will have a 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display, the same as the iPhone 16 Pro series. The iPhone 17 Air will come with a 6.6-inch screen, which is in the middle of the two models.

The ultra-thin design allows this device to remain comfortable at hand for iPhone Pro users, while still offering a large enough screen for iPhone Pro Max fans.

3. Always-On Screen and High Refresh Rate

Since 2022, the Always-On Display feature and the 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate have become the main differences between the standard iPhone model and the Pro model.

However, for the first time, Apple is rumored to be bringing the Always-On feature and higher refresh rate to the iPhone 17 and 17 Air.

There is speculation that the iPhone 17 Air might get a screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, not 120Hz like the Pro model. If true, this would be a significant improvement over previous standard iPhone models.

4. Latest A19 Chip

Apple will introduce two new chip variants for the iPhone 17: series

- The iPhone 17 and 17 Air will use the A19-iPhone 17 Pro chip and Pro Max will get the A19 Pro

Although the difference may not be too significant in everyday use, the A19 chip remains an advanced processor that supports better AI, gaming, and overall performance features.

5. The 48MP Single Back Camera with the BariPhone 17 Air Design will differ significantly from other models in terms of cameras.

- The iPhone 17 Pro will still have three cameras, while the standard-iPhone 17 will have two cameras- the iPhone 17 Air will only have one 48MP main camera

Apple uses a "camera bar" design for this model, although it is not yet known whether there is a specific advantage of the design other than aesthetics.

6. 24MP Front Camera

Apple has finally upgraded the front camera on the iPhone 17 Air and all other iPhone 17 models. Currently, the iPhone only has a 12MP front camera. On the iPhone 17 Air, the front camera will be upgraded to 24MP, resulting in selfie quality and sharper video calls.

7. In-House Modem Apple C1

For the first time, the iPhone 17 Air will use Apple's own C1 modem, which was previously only available on the iPhone 16e.

Using this modem, Apple aims to reduce dependence on Qualcomm and increase efficiency and network connectivity performance.

The iPhone 17 Air will be the latest and most interesting model in the iPhone line. Unlike the iPhone mini or iPhone Plus which has a limited market, the iPhone 17 Air has the potential to become a new standard in the design of the iPhone in the future.
