JAKARTA Apple is developing the Apple Intelligence feature by presenting AirPods equipped with a built-in camera.
One of the latest innovations in Apple Intelligence is Visual Intelligence, a feature that allows users to obtain real-world object information and details using the iPhone 16 camera. However, the Cupertino-based company is now considering a new approach that does not require users to direct iPhone cameras to specific objects.
According to Mark Gurman's report in a Bloomberg bulletin on Sunday, March 9, Apple is "actively developing" a product that combines AirPods with cameras. This camera will later be able to collect environmental data and be used for AI-based features.
For example, users can ask their location, and AirPods will scan nearby signs or signages to accurately determine the location. Even this camera can be used to help users find stores based on the front view of the shop.
AirPods development with cameras may sound unusual, but this concept has emerged in some previous rumors. Apart from Gurman's January 2025 report, these rumors also circulated in October and December 2024, with launch forecasts in the next two to three years.
