JAKARTA - Elon Musk's electric car company officially opens job vacancies for its semi-truck car factory located in Nevada, USA. It seems that the company wants to boost production of its electric trucks.

Job vacancies opened by Tesla include three positions, namely the Quality Engineering Manager, Process Engineer, and Process Technician section. Previously, Tesla had the ambition to make a semi truck in November 2017.

A few years later the company received orders from DHL Group, Pride Group and Walmart, Anheuser-Busch, and PepsiCo. However, Tesla postponed the manufacture of its semi-trucks in the third quarter of 2019 and April 2020.

Then in June 2020, Elon Musk started working on making his electric truck by sending an email to his employees.

“It's time to go all out, and bring the Tesla Semi to production numbers. So far the product is limited, which allows us to improve many aspects of the design, "Musk said as quoted by CNBC International, Sunday, January 24.

Through the email, Musk also added that the production of batteries and power train will be carried out at Giga Nevada. The rest will be worked on at Tesla's factories in the United States.

Based on the submission of financial statements in the third quarter of 2020, the company only said that the truck production initiative was still under development and the place to produce it had not been determined.

"You can go a long distance by truck, up to 800 kilometers and over time it can cover 1,000 kilometers," the Tesla boss told a conference in Europe.

The Tesla CEO claims that the company already has a number of prototypes in operation for more than a year. Unfortunately, Musk did not announce when his massive electric truck production would begin. Meanwhile, its competitors, Daimler and Lion Electric, have started to produce eCascadia electric trucks on a small scale.
