Viral Female Passenger Stole Hand Sanitizer Bottle On TransJakarta Bus

JAKARTA - Videos of stealing hand sanitizer bottles on TransJakarta buses are widely shared on social media. Now TransJakarta has added more security officers to increase security and convenience for customers at bus stops and buses.

"This is to improve customer safety and comfort," said Director of Services and Development of PT Jakarta Transportation, Achmad Izzul Waro as quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 21.

This statement was in response to the circulation of a video recording of the theft of hand sanitizer for the TransJakarta Mayasari bus (MYS 21235) on the Ragunan-Halimun route (Corridor 6), Wednesday, January 20 at 07.30 WIB.

Izzul invites the public, especially TransJakarta customers to participate in maintaining public facilities for the common interest.

"Of course, all public facilities must be taken care of together. Moreover, this is an important one and must be in public transportation. Because with this, all customers can feel safe and comfortable when using TransJakarta services," he said.

Izzul explained that the incident of the hand sanitizer theft was recorded by the surveillance camera installed on the bus.

"This superior facility is useful for monitoring and supervising every action in order to meet the safety and comfort aspects of TransJakarta customers," he said.

Izzul also confirmed that TransJakarta does provide hand sanitizers on buses and bus stops as a commitment to implementing health protocols, in addition to the stipulations that have been set.

In addition, Izzul appealed to the public to stay at home if there is no urgent need.

"But if you have to leave the house because you have to, always make sure to apply 3M, namely wearing a mask, washing your hands, and keeping your distance," said Izzul.
