This name change cannot be separated from the company's long-term strategy called 'Plan S', where they will expand their business to include electric vehicles (EV), mobility services, to sustainable businesses related to transportation.

To note, Kia, which was founded in 1944, started using the word 'Motors' in March 1990, when the company chose to focus on the automotive business. Previously, Kia was named Kia Industrial which produced engines, bicycles and auto parts.
