JAKARTA - A puzzle simulation game created by indie video game developer Lucas Pope entitled Papers, Please will be coming to mobile phones on August 5. The game was first released on August 8, 2013, for Microsoft Windows and OS X devices, then released for Linux on February 12, 2014.

A few months later Papers, Please finally released for iOS in December 2014, but at that time the game was only playable on the iPad. Then in 2017, a port for the PlayStation Vita was released.

Since its then-release, Papers, Please has been received positively, and has come to be an example of empathy play and video game demonstration as an art form. Its launch on August 5 will be the first time Papers, Please can be played for mobile players on iPhone and Android.

Interestingly, on the official website of Papers, Please, the game has been recognized by numerous awards and nominations from the Independent Game Festival, Game Developers Choice Awards, and BAFTA Video Games Awards, and was named by Wired and The New Yorker as the top video game in 2013.

In this game, you have to assign the player as an immigration inspector for the fictional country of Arstotzka, checking the passports of various immigrants to decide who can enter.

If you manage to check passports and paperwork it will quickly make more money, ensuring someone's family lasts month after month.

Further, the developer also said that they are also planning to release it in a console version in 2023.
