JAKARTA - Fox News Channel host, Dan Bongino, on Wednesday, January 26, has been permanently banned from appearing on YouTube. The host, who is considered one of the most conservative figures in the US, is known to have a large following on the video platform.

YouTube, however, was forced to ban him from appearing a week after the Google-owned video service said Bongino had posted false information about COVID-19.

YouTube suspended one of Bongino's YouTube channels on January 20 after he posted a video in which he questioned the effectiveness of wearing masks against the coronavirus. This is considered a violation of Google's pandemic-related misinformation policy.

Google has issued a warning for a week of suspension on its channel. However, Bongino then tried to keep up the misinformation by appearing or appearing on other channels. Bongino was also deemed to have deliberately violated the rules regarding COVID-19 misinformation content, and YouTube was forced to permanently ban him from appearing.

"When a channel receives a strike, it is violating our Terms of Service to post content or to use another channel to avoid suspension," YouTube said in a statement. "If the channel is terminated, the uploader cannot use, own or create any other YouTube channel."

The video giant has added more rules around COVID-19 content as the pandemic continues. Last September, they banned conservative commentators such as Joseph Mercola and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for spreading misinformation about vaccines.

In addition to frequently misinformation about COVID-19, Bongino is also known as one of the figures who very often criticizes US President Joe Biden. He even repeatedly made tweets calling Joe Biden the worst president so far in the US.

Bongino did not respond to a request for comment sent to its website last Wednesday. But he said on Twitter last week that the suspension didn't surprise him and that he plans to continue posting videos on Rumble, a YouTube-style service popular with conservatives. Bongino writes that he has twice the number of followers on Rumble as he does on YouTube.

His Dan Bongino Show channel on YouTube has 882,000 subscribers and nearly 1,100 uploads since its creation in 2013, according to tracker Social Blade.
