Good News For SHIBARMY, Newegg Online Retailer Will Accept Payment With Shiba Inu Crypto (SHIB)

JAKARTA – One of the leading online retailers from the United States, Newegg, is reportedly planning to accept payments using Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens. The announcement was made by Newegg on Tuesday. Newegg is also listed on one of the largest US stock exchanges, the Nasdaq.

Reporting from various sources, Newegg has reached various countries in the world including countries in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Latin America. Newegg focuses on computer peripherals, PC components, laptops, gaming systems, office supplies, and automotive parts.

“Newegg will begin accepting SHIBs in early December, further cementing Newegg.com as the destination of choice for online shoppers looking to pay with cryptocurrency,” the Newegg announcement reads.

SHIB will be accepted “as a form of payment on its platform during holidays,” Newegg stressed. Tuesday's announcement follows a tweet the company made on Friday stating that SHIB is "coming soon" to Newegg.

Newegg to Show Payments with SHIB on North America's Biggest Billboard

The announcement of SHIB acceptance was made “at a massive scale with a massive out-of-home (DOOH) digital campaign being featured on The Reef, North America’s largest DOOH billboard,” the e-commerce giant explained.

The billboard is located in downtown Los Angeles, California. The company mentions that the billboards are on “three sides of a large office building that spans the entire Los Angeles city block.”

"At 55 feet high and 736 feet wide, the 40,000+ square foot DOOH billboard is one of the most impressive billboards in the world," the company added.

For information, Newegg accepts crypto payments via Bitpay. Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Theaters which also accepts SHIB payments, said that Bitpay decided to add the SHIB token to the list of cryptocurrencies on its platform.

Aron said in early November that he expects AMC to be the first company to accept SHIB through Bitpay. However, the theater network does not currently use Bitpay and Aron says the Shiba Inu meme coins will be received within 60 to 120 days from the date of its announcement. This plan would put AMC behind Newegg in accepting SHIB.

“Through our partnership with Bitpay, we have the ability to move fast and lead the market with flexible cryptocurrency payment options. For this reason, we are happy to offer SHIB as a payment option on Newegg.com,” he added.

As of writing, the SHIB token is trading at $0.00004168 (equivalent to Rp0.6). Coiningecko reported that the price of the Shiba Inu has fallen by 3.3 percent in the last 24 hours.
