JAKARTA - Password manager 1Password now makes it easy to share passwords with anyone. They have Psst! (password secure sharing tool), which is a new link sharing feature released by the company on Tuesday, October 12.

Instead of using the pre-existing 1Password sharing options, which require an account, or simply copying and pasting login information, which is inherently insecure, Psst! Now makes sharing passwords a bit more like sharing a Google Doc with someone.

You can create links to share password credentials, set expiration times (when people first see them, or at one hour, one day, one week, 14 days, or 30 days), and share passwords with specific people (via email). them) or for anyone with a link.

The experience of someone receiving the link may vary depending on the sharing settings. If you set what you share to be visible to everyone, the link will only open as a copy of the credentials when shared.

If what you're sharing is only intended for a specific group of people, they'll need to confirm their email and then receive a one-time verification code to sign in and receive access.

Note that the link only allows access to a copy of the information that was shared when you created the link. If you change the password stored in the vault later, the old link will not show the new password.

Psst added security! depends in part on the security of the email receiving the verification code (you can imagine the scenario of the recipient's account having been compromised), but this method keeps the rest of your vault information secure, provides a way to track who is accessing the login, and access to the login expires whenever you disconnect it.
