JAKARTA - The figure behind the success of Google's Pixel camera, Marc Levoy, is reported to have joined Adobe. Now Marc Levoy takes on a new position as Vice President and Fellow in the Photoshop Camera application.
Quoting Engadget, Tuesday, July 21, previously, Levoy ended his career at Google in early March 2020 and now he heads a team that develops computational photography technology and camera features which are also used in Google Pixel smartphones.
Later, Levoy will also work with the Photoshop Camera team, the Adobe Research team, and the Sensei AI team. But maybe Photoshop Camera will be Levoy's main focus in developing the technology.
However, Adobe did not explain in detail what Levoy will do or develop in the Photoshop Camera application. While it is known that the current Photoshop Camera app uses AI and machine learning to help users add creative filters.
It is possible that Adobe could create a new camera application by leveraging sophisticated image processing algorithms, and providing improved image quality as well as cameras on Android and iOS devices.
However, Levoy previously led a team that made camera features such as Night Sight, Portrait Mode and HDR +. Unfortunately, Google turned the corner by adding a secondary lens to its flagship phone as algorithmic technology made the company more economical by eliminating additional hardware.

But many rumors say that executives in the smartphone division disagree with that, partly because the Pixel 4 also claims to have poor battery life. This resulted in Levoy having to leave Google after almost six years of working there.
