These Two Boys Successfully Earned 30 Thousand US Dollars Per Month From Crypto Mining

Brothers Aanya and Ishaan Thakur managed to get hundreds of millions of rupiah per month from mining crypto (CoinTribune)

JAKARTA – Aanya Thakur (9 years) and her brother Ishaan Thakur (14 years) managed to get 30 thousand US dollars (around Rp. 428.6 million) from mining crypto in one month. The siblings revealed how they were able to get as much as four hundreds of millions of rupiah.

Both admitted they “want to learn new things related to technology – and also make money while learning it,” as quoted by CNBC.

Based on a report from Bitcoin.com News, the brothers only mine three cryptocurrencies namely Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Ravencoin (RVN). Ishaan learns how to mine crypto from YouTube videos, then he converts his Alienware computer into a mining rig. Aanya and Ishaan started mining activities by mining Ethereum.

“Mining crypto is like mining for gold or diamonds,” Ishaan said when interviewed by CNBC.

“Instead of using a shovel, you mine with a computer. Instead of finding a piece of gold or a diamond in a mine, you find cryptocurrency," he said.

Both love mining activities thanks to their father. Aanya and Ishan started a mining company called Flifer Technologis.

“We liked it (mining) so much that we started adding more processors [or chips], and made $1,000 in our first month,” said Ishaan.

Not long after, at the end of July they managed to buy mining equipment such as ASIC Antminers which have SHA256 capabilities, and the Nvidia RTX 3080-Ti GPU.

“We can process more than 10 billion Ethereum algorithms per second,” said Ishaan.

Mining Crypto Using Renewable Energy

Aanya and Ishaan's success cannot be separated from the support of their father, Raj, who helps their mining activities to keep running and growing. CNBC reporter Taylor Locke revealed that Raj did not disclose the amount of the loan to support his two sons' mining.

The Texas-based Thakur brothers explained that crypto mining activities use “100 percent renewable energy.” However, the two did not mention in detail what type of renewable energy was used.

“We moved from my desk to the garage, because the house was getting too hot and noisy,” the Thakur brothers said.

Mining activities cannot be separated from the noise and heat released by crypto mining machines. So they moved the mining equipment to an air-conditioned data center located in the city of Dallas. Even so, the garage is still used to test the mining rig before being moved to its new location.

“Now we use the garage only to build and test mining rigs. When they were ready, we moved them to an air-conditioned professional data center in downtown Dallas.”
