Apple Warns Macbook Pro Users Not To Cover Webcams Carelessly

JAKARTA - Apple warns its users not to carelessly close the webcam lens on the Macbook Pro. Because, this can cause damage to the screen, such as cracks.

Launching MacRumors, Tuesday, July 14, Apple explained that it has provided a thin space between the screen panel and the keyboard to create the illusion of a tightly closed Macbook. This means that users should not carelessly add a protective layer to cover the webcam, because it might damage the thin gaps between the screen panels.

Apple also warned that if there was damage to the Macbook screen panel. Then the repair price will be very expensive even if it is done accidentally.

"As an alternative to the camera cover, use the camera indicator light to determine whether your camera is active, and decide which applications can use your camera in System Preferences," said Apple in a written statement.

This warning from Apple appears, after several cases of Macbook screen damage experienced by users. Some of them use a webcam lens cover panel that is thick enough, so that it presses a thin layer on the Macbook screen.
