JAKARTA - Microsoft and global tourism technology company OYO today announced a partnership to develop technology in the future tourism and hospitality industry.

OYO will adopt Microsoft Azure cloud computing services as the key to driving cloud-based innovation and revolutionizing the hospitality industry, as well as the technology-based tourism industry. Microsoft will also invest in OYO in equity.

Over the past few years, OYO is known to have developed a partner app ecosystem with more than 50 apps and more than 500 services. Furthermore, as part of this alliance, OYO will develop Smart Room experiences for travelers on the OYO platform, such as in-room voice control experiences.

By adopting Microsoft Speech and AI services, the experience will also include self-check-in supported by a digital arrival and departure system, a standalone Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identification system, and smart keys for hotel rooms managed using the Internet of Things. (IoT) and virtual assistants.

In addition to co-innovation, OYO will also begin migrating workloads to the Microsoft Azure platform, adopting Microsoft Suite 365 for better collaboration and work productivity, and shifting to Github Enterprise to securely accelerate technology development.
