JAKARTA - The community-based navigation platform, Waze, now has a fresh new look. This reform was presented in line with the regulations on Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) which began to be relaxed in a number of cities, including Indonesia.

As quoted by 9to5Google, the display of labels and moods in the Waze application is made more colorful to represent the user's mood while on the road. To make it look fresher, this platform also provides bright colors to the road and map views.

"We want to build a strong and flexible visual identity that will support the brand and its users, enabling them to express themselves authentically," said Waze Head of Creative, Jake Shaw in his official statement, Monday, July 6.

The Moods display on Waze will represent the user's mood while driving. Users can display various expressions and colors, from happy, free, sleepy to emotions when they are on the road.

"Mood can reflect our mood while driving, and exciting colors celebrate the joy we always try to bring to the road," he continued.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Waze has continued to adapt to provide easy navigation guidance for its users. Now with a new, fresher look, Waze hopes that people can adapt to the new normal conditions.

As a community-based, or crowdsourced, navigation platform, users are allowed to share the latest information regarding traffic conditions around them. This information will be useful for other users when driving or looking for an alternative route.
