Samsung to launch Galaxy Book Fold 17 foldable laptop (Gagadget)

JAKARTA – The South Korean technology giant, Samsung is rumored to be releasing its new product, namely a folding screen laptop called the Book Fold 17. Previously, Samsung had successfully released a folding screen smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold series. Samsung has also launched a promotional video for its folding screen laptop on its YouTube channel.

The news was leaked by Ice Universe through its Twitter account. The account shares the screenshots complete with the name of the laptop device. The latest Samsung product is scheduled to be launched under the name Galaxy Book Fold 17.

The presence of the number 17 behind the name refers to the size of the laptop screen that has not been folded, which has a size of 17 inches OLED. The screen is claimed to have minimal blue light. In addition, Samsung also presents other innovative concepts such as equipping a laptop with a camera placed under the screen.

Samsung's folding screen laptop is not the first, Lenovo has previously developed a similar concept by presenting the ThinkPad X1 Fold laptop. The laptop is famous for its fierce performance because it uses the Intel Lakefield chipset. For information, the Lakefield chip is Intel's effort to deliver a powerful and efficient processor. However, these efforts have not been successful.

Intel brings back the Alder Lake chip and is claimed to be better than the previous generation. However, until now there has been no source that has reported more detailed information about Samsung's latest product, namely the Galaxy Book Fold.

According to Slash Gear, no source has yet announced the launch date of the Galaxy Book Fold 17. However, expect the release of the foldable screen laptop made by Samsung to be announced in the near future. This depends on the compatibility of the Windows 11 operating system performance with folding screen devices.
