Huawei collaborates with Dailymotion (Dailymotion)

JAKARTA - The trade war between the United States (US) and China will still last a long time until 2021. This policy has made many technology companies from the bamboo curtain country unable to buy software or hardware components from the US.

In this case, Huawei is no longer able to partner with Google. As a result, Huawei's new devices cannot use Google's core services, such as Google Maps, Chrome, and YouTube for Android's default applications.

Quoting from 9to5Google, this situation also forces Huawei to immediately complete its multiplatform operating system. Besides also collaborating with other service providers, such as Dailymotion, to replace the YouTube application on Huawei android phones.

This Dailymotion video streaming service can be used, for Huawei smartphone users in the European region. Huawei's decision to partner with Dailymotion to replace YouTube as a free video sharing platform.

"We are proud to collaborate with Huawei, so that our content catalog can reach a wider audience," wrote the Chief Content Officer of Dailymotion, Stéphane Godin in his official statement, Wednesday, June 3.

Dailymotion currently has 250 million active users worldwide. This video streaming service Dailymotion has also been used by a number of well-known media groups, such as Le Monde, l'Equipe, BeIN SPORTS, JPI Media, Marie Claire, and the NBA G League.

Just like the on-demand video streaming service, Dailymotion also produces original content that is distributed independently. Of course, with the presence of Dailymotion, Huawei no longer has to worry about being left behind by Google and its services due to prolonged US policies.

Previously in January, Huawei also partnered with TomTom to work on a digital map service, as a replacement for Google Maps. Huawei also continues to develop the Harmony operating system (OS) that will form the basis of its smartphones, replacing Android.
