JAKARTA - Skype for Business Online users must prepare to migrate, because the service will be discontinued on July 31. Microsoft has started warning users.

Compiled from ZDNet, Wednesday July 7th, that date also marks the end of one of Microsoft's platforms which has been running in a relatively short time. Because the company only released Skype for Business Online in 2015, four years after it acquired Skype for $8.5 billion.

In addition, Microsoft also said services integrated with Skype for Business Online will not receive support after July 31. Includes support for third-party conferencing audio providers, Skype for Business Online Cloud Connector Edition, Hybrid Voice configuration, and Skype Meeting Broadcast.

With the shutdown of this service, the company has encouraged Skype for Business Online users to move to Teams for the past two years. Not only that, Microsoft has also offered to help users switch platforms since last February. For information, Microsoft claims that it currently has 145 million active users in Teams every day.

Later, the move made by users will receive assistance from the Microsoft team. So, users who want to make the move must notify the Microsoft 365 Message Center and Teams admin center to schedule transfer assistance. However, users can also make their own moves.

The company estimates that most displacement assistance will take 24 hours to complete. When that happens, users will still have Skype for Business Online access. So once the move is complete, users will automatically have access to various Teams services, such as messages, meetings, and calls.
