Ignore Warning, British Warship Gets Warning Shot From Russia

JAKARTA - Russia reportedly gave warning shots to the British Navy destroyer, HMS Defender. Because the warship has crossed the Russian border in the Black Sea.

According to a report from SputnikNews, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video showing a Russian SU-24M jet flying aboard the destroyer HMS Defender.

The day before, Moscow warned that the HMS Defender had violated Russia's maritime borders in the Black Sea. The Russian Ministry of Defense threatened to bomb the HMS Defender if the British Navy ship crossed the border and ignored the warning.

Russia fired warning shots at the ship. Not long after, HMS Defender left the area, as informed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Commenting on the incident, Britain denied that its warships did not violate the border because they were passing through Ukrainian waters in accordance with international legal agreements.

On the other hand, the statement from the British Empire was responded to by the Russian Foreign Ministry by saying that Moscow views the actions of the British warship as part of a "dirty provocation".

The Russian government immediately summoned the British Ambassador in Moscow to discuss the incident. Moscow regrets the incident.
