Not A Folding Screen, LG's Latest Smartphone Can Be Played

JAKARTA - The new LG cellphone has returned to the public, but this time it is not with a screen commonly found in the smartphone market. LG is reportedly making the device with dual rotatable screens.

In fact, this is not the first rotary cellphone that the Korean manufacturer has released. Over a decade ago it has released several phones using this form-factor, including the LB1500 and LU1400.

Quoted by The Verge, Tuesday, May 12, LG's new mobile phone is nicknamed "Wing". A premium high-end cellphone that will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 series chipset.

Later, this phone will have a 6.8-inch main screen that is made separate from the body. Where the main screen of this phone will rotate horizontally and form the letter "T".

The exposed part of the phone also features a secondary screen measuring 4 inches with an aspect ratio of 1: 1. This second screen panel function will replace the keyboard display.

As per reports, the secondary display is focused on providing a great multi-tasking experience and improved content immersion. For example, when a user runs a photo application, they will be able to preview photos on the main screen and access all editing features on the secondary screen.

It's known, cell phones with rotating screens are actually a thing of the past. Possibly, LG was inspired by the Samsung SGH-Z130 with a strange design, of course.

Apart from carrying a rotating screen and a Snapdragon 7 series chipset, the LG Wing is expected to have 5G network connectivity support and a 64MP main camera. However, there's no word yet on whether this phone will have a triple camera like the LG Velvet or a more impressive quad-camera setup.

This phone is expected to be launched sometime in the second half of this year. Not a few are speculating about the price, it is said that the LG Wing will be priced at around 1 million won or the equivalent of Rp. 12 million.
