JAKARTA - Nvidia and LG Group are starting to converge in two important sectors of future technology: humanoid robots and artificial intelligence data centers. This cooperation was announced by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang after meeting with LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo in Seoul.

According to a Yonhap report quoted on Monday, June 8, Huang said the US chip giant would partner with LG in motor technology, mechanical systems, humanoid robots, and next-generation data centers.

"We are working with them on motor technology and mechanical systems to be able to combine humanoid robots with the future of robotics technology," Huang told reporters after a meeting at LG Group's headquarters in western Seoul.

A humanoid robot is a robot designed to resemble the shape and movement of a human. In the technology industry, this field is increasingly being eyed for manufacturing, services, logistics, and high-risk jobs.

Huang said Nvidia and LG are also collaborating on future data center architectures. The scope includes cooling systems, power distribution, and overall facility design.

AI data centers require more complex cooling systems, power supplies, and facility designs because they have to handle large-scale computing.

"We are working together to build the data center of the future," Huang said.

Koo said both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation to accelerate the era of AI (artificial intelligence).

"Today we had a deep discussion with Nvidia on the future direction. I believe that much greater cooperation will be needed in the future to accelerate the AI era," said Koo.

The meeting took place during Huang's visit to South Korea. Yonhap reported that during the visit, Huang met with leaders of major conglomerates and researchers to explore broader cooperation in the fields of AI and robotics.
