JAKARTA - Spotify has introduced a new video control feature that makes it easier for users to set the visual display in the application. This feature, makes users not see videos inside Spotify.

This new feature is designed so that users can choose between focusing on the audio experience or adding it to the visual experience in the form of video. All users, both free and paid, can access this new feature.

Spotify said it was rolling out the feature gradually to users around the world by April. Spotify wants to ensure that every individual can manage their listening experience as needed.

To access this new feature, users can open the Settings menu in the Content and Display section to set recurring visuals or Canvas. Once selected, the settings will be synchronized with other devices.

This means that Spotify on mobile devices, desktops, and apps on TV will apply similar rules. Even if video controls are enabled, users will still see video ads on certain audio ads.

Family Plan administrators also have control over whether to enable or disable video content for all package members. This feature, which was previously only available for child accounts, is now extended to all profiles under a family subscription.

In addition to manual controls, Spotify also introduced a stricter age verification system by partnering with trusted technology partners. This system ensures that adult music video content is only available to users who have met the minimum age criteria.
