JAKARTA - Kaspersky announced the extension of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Agency for Information and Communication Technology (BSSN), as a form of long-term collaboration between the two parties to improve cyber security in Indonesia.
Kaspersky and BSSN first signed a MoU in 2021, since then, the two parties have often exchanged, with BSSN representatives regularly participating in Kaspersky's international events.
"By leveraging our global expertise, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to a safer and more resilient digital environment in Indonesia," said Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Asia Pacific and Japan at Kaspersky, Heng Lee.
Based on the renewed MoU, Kaspersky and BSSN identified four areas in which the two parties wanted to deepen their collaboration:
Policy Collaboration
Both parties will engage in discussions and initiatives related to cybersecurity policy and regulatory frameworks, support the protection of critical sectors and contribute to the development of a strong national cybersecurity landscape.
International Cooperation
This partnership will facilitate the exchange of global insights, best practices, and threat intelligence, helping to strengthen Indonesia's readiness to face the ever-evolving cyber threat.
Technical Collaboration
Kaspersky and BSSN will work together to share technical expertise, research findings, and relevant cybersecurity information to improve overall cybersecurity detection, response, and defense capabilities.
Joint Initiative
This collaboration will include joint efforts in collaboration on awareness-raising, professional training, and capacity-building programs aimed at empowering stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
"In the future, this collaboration will allow us to invest in the development of skills, knowledge, and frameworks that will support the country's cyber resilience even in the years to come," said Kaspersky's Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Adrian Hia.
