In the Asia Pacific region, the trend of increase is even more significant. Kaspersky recorded a 132% spike in password stealer attacks and a 32% increase in spyware.

Kaspersky's Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Adrian Hia, said that cybersecurity is no longer just an information technology issue, but has become an important factor that affects the sustainability of an organization's business.

"Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT function, but directly affects business continuity and competitive advantage," said Hia.

According to him, companies today must face various threats ranging from digital fraud to large-scale cyber attacks and advanced persistent threat (APT) campaigns.

"Organizations today must defend against everything from large-scale attacks and fraud to sophisticated APT campaigns," he said.

Kaspersky assesses that this increasing cyber threat requires organizations to strengthen their digital security strategies, including by utilizing threat intelligence and more adaptive security solutions.
