JAKARTA - Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Alkimia Interactive announced that Gothic Remake will officially launch on June 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and GOG.

Gothic Remake brings back the classic 2001 RPG with the latest generation technology, but still retains the dark atmosphere and free exploration that is the hallmark of the series.

Set in the Kingdom of Myrtana, which is under attack by orcs, in this game, you will return to the Valley of the Mines, a prison colony trapped inside a magic barrier.

The situation triggered a prisoner uprising until the colony turned into a lawless territory controlled by brutal factions. The arrival of an unknown prisoner - the main character of "Nameless Hero" - will be the turning point of the conflict.

THQ Nordic says this remake is completely rebuilt from scratch, with improvements to the questline, more realistic NPC routines, new traversal abilities, and a modernized combat system.

Some of the main features offered include more than 50 hours of gameplay, a dynamic open world, a branching storyline with three different factions, and an RPG experience that remains faithful to the original version.

In addition to this, the latest trailer for Gothic Remake has also been released along with the announcement of the launch date.
