JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital reveals the government's commitment to preparing young generations who are able to master cyber security and artificial intelligence (AI) simultaneously.
Deputy Minister of Komdigi Nezar Patria emphasized that this effort is aimed at facing the increasing digital threats that are increasingly personal and massive today and in the future.
Because he realized, the scale of the attack is now growing much faster than the ability to defend, both on the system of institutions and personal devices of the community.
"The development of attack capabilities is much larger in scale than the ability to defend. This is quite worrying," Nezar said in an official broadcast quoted on Sunday, February 1.
Therefore, Nezar encourages the public to increase awareness of cyber security, starting with using stronger passwords and activating layered protection.
Not only that, the government also encourages digital platform developers to build systems with a security by design approach. Because, Nezar added, security aspects must be part of the design from the beginning.
"From the beginning, they must review cyber resilience and comply with new standards in the midst of the very fast AI dynamics," he said.
Komdigi itself already has various talent development programs, including training at HR offices and Digital Talent Scholarship which includes cyber security and AI modules.
The government has also prepared a special scheme to strengthen talent through the AI Talent Factory, which is currently working with Brawijaya University, following ITS and UGM, as well as a number of other campuses.
