Google announced the arrival of Gemini to the Chrome browser, which is now available for MacOS, Windows, and Chromebook Plus users, and is built on Gemini 3, Google's most intelligent AI model to date.
With Gemini's presence in Chrome, users can now use Nano Banana to edit images on web pages with just a text command, without having to download or reupload files.
In addition, Google also presents the Gemini side panel, which allows users to open an AI assistant on the side of the screen, to compare various sites, summarize, and help schedule agendas on the calendar.
Gemini in Chrome also supports Connected Apps, which are integrated with various Google services such as Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps, Google Shopping, and Google Flights.
With this integration, Gemini can help users search for old emails related to events, recommend flights, and automatically compose notification emails to colleagues.
"Gemini is just in Chrome like having an assistant that helps you find information and get things done on the web more easily than ever," said Chrome Vice President Parisa Tabriz in an announcement on Google's official blog.
In the coming months, Google said it will bring Personal Intelligence features to Chrome, which allows Gemini to remember the context of previous conversations and provide more personal and relevant answers.
Not only that, Google introduced Chrome auto browse 2, an AI-powered feature that can automatically perform tasks, from planning a trip to collecting documents, available to AI Pro and Ultra customers in the United States.
Finally, Chrome will support the Google Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), a new open standard for AI-based commerce developed with industry partners such as Shopify, Etsy, Wayfair, and Target.
"We've only just begun to explore the possibilities of the agent-based web, and we're excited to see how these new features help you," he concluded.
