JAKARTA – The Nobel Prize in Economics winner in 2013, Robert Shiller is reportedly interested in working in the cryptocurrency market. Currently, Shiller is considering investing in cryptocurrencies. He wants to know the crypto market.
“I never bought bitcoins. Maybe I should be active in that market”, Shiller said as quoted by Bitcoin News.
In an interview with CNBC International, Shiller discussed the cryptocurrency market specifically. He argues that crypto money is very psychological. Shiller also admires the underlying blockchain technology.
On the other hand, Shiller is also concerned about the current state of the stock, housing and crypto markets. The Yale University professor of Economics revealed that he saw a “wild western” mentality at play in the crypto market.
Even so, Shiller revealed that he was interested in getting into the crypto market.

“I thought about buying it to feel the effects. In fact, many people have already done so. I never buy bitcoins. Maybe I should be active in that market”, said Shiller.
Previously Shiller gave a skeptical view of the prima donna of crypto money, Bitcoin. In 2017 Shiller stated that Bitcoin is the best example of “irrational excitement or speculative bubbles”.
Then, in 2018, Shiller doubted that crypto money could survive in the next 100 years. Although Shiller's view at that time looked skeptical. But he revealed that his views are not meant to belittle Bitcoin.
"I don't mean to underestimate Bitcoin", he explained.
Shiller sees the possibility that crypto money will bring about something good. He did not elaborate on this possibility.
In addition to Shiller, another Nobel laureate in Economics, Paul Krugman stated that he was “hands up” in predicting the end of Bitcoin.
