JAKARTA - Amazon has managed to integrate the Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant Alexa+ into almost all the devices they develop. Now, 97 percent of devices support the use of the assistant.
This achievement was revealed by Amazon when attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 some time ago. To date, there are more than 600 million devices that Amazon has sold. Most of these units will support the updated Alexa+ version.
Alexa+ is now designed to be more than just an embedded assistant on the Echo device. In line with the launch of Alexa+ in the recent web version, the AI assistant is now offering better knowledge. Users can not only search for information, but also order online transportation or order food.
"I think some of Alexa's advantages are its familiarity with customers, tens of millions of customers have interacted continuously," said Amazon Alexa and Echo Vice President Daniel Rausch, launching from TechCrunch on Tuesday, January 13.
Amazon is currently prioritizing the availability of the Alexa+ service for all Prime subscription members before releasing it widely to the public. This strategy is expected to strengthen Amazon's ecosystem amid tight AI competition, especially with the popularity of Gemini and ChatGPGT.
In addition to expanding the presence of Alexa+ assistants, Amazon has also redesigned its mobile application by placing a chatbot interface on the main page. With this update, users are expected to continue interacting with Amazon's artificial intelligence, both through text and voice.
When attending CES 2026, Amazon had revealed its partnership with BMW and Samsung to expand Alexa's reach beyond the home environment. This partnership shows that Amazon wants to make Alexa a reliable smart assistant anytime and anywhere.
